Flying Horse is the highest price band on the north side, built around a golf course and a private club with athletics and dining. Custom and semi-custom homes dominate, and the views back toward the Front Range are the reason many of the lots command what they do. More on the area, including what it is like day to day, is on the Flying Horse community page. For reference, Academy School District 20 is the best primary source on the area itself.
Before you buy here: Club membership structures and what they cost are a separate question from the house, and they vary. Lot position relative to the course and the ridgeline drives a lot of the price difference between otherwise similar homes.
On this side you are weighing builders, covenants and metro district financing. The Buyer’s Guide walks through it, and El Paso County holds the property records.
