Green Mountain Falls is the oldest feeling place on the pass, a small village built around a lake and a gazebo, with trailheads running straight out of town. Inventory is genuinely scarce, and a good deal of it is historic, which means charm and maintenance in the same purchase. More on the area, including what it is like day to day, is on the Green Mountain Falls community page. For reference, Town of Green Mountain Falls is the best primary source on the area itself.
Before you buy here: Lot sizes are small and older homes often carry older systems. Check the foundation, the electrical and the roof carefully, and understand where the property sits relative to the creek.
Buying up here means wells, septic and winter access. The Buyer’s Guide covers all three, and Woodland Park School District RE-2 is where the permit records live.
